MINOR ARCANA - Mind/Swords- KArma
ZODIAC- CAPRICORN-AQUARIUS-PISCES (URANUS)
CARD - PAGe of SWORDS
MEANING - POwerful Communication, Clear ARticulation of an Opinion, STanding up for the Truth, Karmic Conversation, Dialog of Mental Torture, Hellfire
We can see that on the original artwork print it is written Hellfire. It also can be translated as Torment. Page of Mind is not usually that devilish in imagery but if you think about the conversations that happen during the appearance of this card it can be really cut-throat and super torturous with some extra mental anguish. These conversations can either make a break a connection. The way I experience Page of Swords is usually when a very painful truth comes out that is quite harsh for both parties. The one who gets karma depends on the past deeds and we know ‘Karma is a Bitch’. The person who wasn’t in some way authentic, who is repeating a past form of behaviour, is often the one who has not healed and hence will torture the other. It is also common that a kind, spiritual and empathetic person will feel a strong bond with their torturer. Without trying to make it too dramatic the victim may return to their abuser 7 times before realising they have been taken advantage of. Verbal abuse can be disguised under emotional attachment.
On the image we can see different weapons of torture being applied in a 6 comicstrip illustrations, perhaps the seventh is where we see the victim turning into a victor. Verbal abuse can take shape of manipulation, lies, provocation, spite, reproach, gaslighting, name calling and many others.
A great pointer here is how one feels every time they enter a situation. Does the person give you what you’ve asked? If you are left with the same result and it took you 6 times to see it then there is hope you can change the narrative the next time and also cut that person from your energetically presence, because it is clearly what they needed, i.e. to opt into having you there for their desires without giving you what you deserve.
Traditionally, the page’s body is faced forward, but the head is turned back, this gives you a clue that he is looking into the past, returning to an old flame etc. In fact it is the 7 of Swords is what the Page is acknowledging and he is getting ready to yield that sword to protect him/her-self.
Positively, it encourages a new form of thinking after having experienced the 7 of Swords. Being brave to speak up, taking risks and standing up for what is true, hence the sword of truth in his hands, the page is here to support your articulation of opinion and a confident way of communicating.
Hindu Gods’ Page of Mind is a reminder of the what you have been through the 7 of Mind as a support system for you to choose to voice what you feel is necessary.
